Failure to properly prepare the area may delay service or require rescheduling

To ensure your chimney cleaning or inspection appointment runs safely and efficiently, please complete the following steps before our technician arrives.

1. Fireplace & Chimney Must Be Cold

This is the most important step.

• Do not use your fireplace or wood stove for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
• All embers must be completely extinguished.
• The firebox, flue, and chimney liner must be cool to the touch.

Hot or warm systems cannot be serviced safely.

2. Clear the Interior Work Area

Our technicians need safe access to the fireplace and surrounding space.

Please:

1. Remove decorative items from the mantel.
2. Clear furniture, rugs, and décor within 3–6 feet of the fireplace.
3. Remove fireplace tools, log holders, and screens if possible.
4. Secure pets in a separate area during service.

Note: During cleaning, protective coverings are used, but clearing the area helps prevent soot from transferring to nearby items.

3. Provide Clear Exterior Access

For roof-level inspections or cleanings, exterior access may be required.

Please:

1. Unlock gates.
2. Move vehicles from driveway areas if access is needed.
3. Clear debris from around the base of the chimney.
4. Trim low-hanging branches that may obstruct roof access.
5. Secure outdoor pets.

4. Attic or Interior Access (If Applicable)

For certain inspections, attic or interior access may be necessary.

Please ensure:

• Attic entry points are accessible.
• Stored items are moved away from the chimney structure.
• Lighting is available if possible.

After Service Is Completed

1. Do not use the fireplace until our technician confirms it is safe to do so.
2. Review any recommendations provided in your inspection findings.
3. Contact us if you experience drafting issues, unusual odors, or smoke backup.
